Halloween Month at the Academy

Happy October! This month, the Academy has all kinds of festive activities for families and folks who enjoy getting into the Halloween spirit. In addition to weekend trick-or-treats and spooky activities, there will be story times, live animal enrichment and more! Trick or Treat

Visit the Academy every weekend in October and on Halloween and trick or treat as you visit our exhibits. Each exhibit (Outside In, Butterflies!, Xtreme Bugs and The Big Dig) will have a small treat for you to take home and cool Halloween-themed specimens for you to check out. All ages are welcome, and we invite you to wear a costume for $2 off admission.

October Investigation Station: Spooky Science

Make a ghost dance with electricity and test some super spooky decorations before your Halloween soiree! Join us in front of the Moose diorama on Fridays and Saturdays from 11-3 for Investigation Station, a drop-in activity where you can ask open-ended questions, design experiments, manipulate variables and use scientific tools.

The Academy is home to scientists researching topics such as biodiversity, climate change and evolution. The Investigation Station provides an opportunity for visitors to practice and experiment with the tools and processes of our research.

Halloween Week at the Academy

From October 24–31, the animal enclosures in Outside In will get a festive fall makeover! Our animals will revel in enrichment, so put on your costume and carve out some good times with them at the Academy! Enjoy a daily coloring page plus a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt each day in Outside In.
