We are thrilled to announce that we have received We are thrilled to announce that we have received funding from The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage (@PewCenterArts) in support of our upcoming exhibition, "The Botany of Nations: Re-collecting the Lewis and Clark Herbarium With Indigenous Perspectives." The project forefronts the voices of Native Nations traditional knowledge keepers who have inhabited and sustainably stewarded the lands that Lewis & Clark traversed and contributed richly to the scientific knowledge advanced by the expedition. Did you know that the Academy’s Malacology Colle Did you know that the Academy’s Malacology Collection is a priceless resource for the study of North American land and freshwater mollusks? It holds more relevant type (or species-defining) specimens than any other! ⁠

A new book, Utah Mollusk Identification Guide by Eric J. Wagner features images of specimens in the Academy’s collection to illustrate  142 species. In most cases, these are sets of high-resolution color photos and tiled SEM images of often microscopic shells that were created by Drexel co-op students under the Academy's NSF-funded Type Imaging project. ⁠
