All-Star Days

By Carolyn Belardo

Dinosaurs, weird specimens in jars, science detectives, live animal encounters, and an exhibit about chocolate are all in store for All-Star Days, Saturday, Dec. 27 through Tuesday, Dec. 30.

For four days, the Academy celebrates the most popular of its family programs with engaging activities, rare fossil, feather and insect displays, new live animal shows, and crafts to create and take home. Each day features a different nature theme, so there’s plenty to do by coming more than once to All-Star Days.

While you’re here, in the Special Exhibits Gallery see Chocolate: The Exhibition, presented by Mars Chocolate North America. On view through Jan. 24, Chocolate describes the intriguing story of this “food of the gods” from its origin as a rain forest plant to America’s favorite sweet.

A special hot chocolate bar featuring different kinds of hot cocoa and delicious toppings will be presented by 12th Street Catering from noon to 2 p.m. each day, as a special part of All-Star Days.

The holidays are a great time to be with family, and the Academy’s family invites yours to enjoy All-Star Days! For a full list of activities, visit the All-Star Days page.
